The girls session at Exist has moved from the last Tuesday of each month to the first Saturday of every month. Exist started the monthly girls session in May 2014 and it has been monthly on a Tuesday evening up until now. The first Saturday evening instantly proved the move from Tuesday was a great idea and we are sticking with it. Thanks to all the girls who showed up for the new slot, it was awesome!! The next session is on Saturday 4th November at 5pm. It’s free entry so see you there!!!
Swansea’s very own homegrown skateboard company FURR Skateboards have put together a short edit of their team shredding right here in the park.
There is some crazy stuff packed into just one minute so you should probably warm up your eyes before watching so that you don’t miss anything.
You can now browse a hand picked selection of our favourite skateboard, scooter and protection essentials on the Exist Skate Store website. The section includes complete scooters and skateboards, pads, helmets, bearings, shoes and more.
The products we have picked are mostly for beginners and we hope that it’ll help people that are new to skating and scootering pick good quality equipment that will help them progress quickly. It always upsets us when youngsters are held back by low quality gear from Toys R Us etc.
Even if you don’t want to buy through the website feel free to browse and then pop into the park or the shop where we can have a chat with you about your needs and what will best suit you or your kids.
You can use the filter on the left hand side of the main category to choose what you want, you can even choose by colour so that all your equipment matches and you look nice and smart!
Click on the SHOP link above (right hand side of the main navigation) to go straight through from any page on the park site.
Click over to Girl Skate UK to see some photos and read a write-up from Fran Stroud about our recent Girl’s Jam at the park.
Saturday saw Swansea’s first all girls skateboard event here at the park, there was a great turnout with girls from all age groups taking part.
We won’t say much now because we’d rather wait until there’s some video footage to share with you but it was great to see the Rogue Skateboards team in action and genuinely heartwarming watching all the younger girls getting involved, including some that had never even skated before but were clearly naturals on the board!
Stay tuned for a full write-up, more photos and video.
So last weekend we put on a game of SKATE at the park, as expected all kinds of crazy tricks were boshed out right from the start.
It’s always amazing to see what people can pull out of their trick bags when they are under pressure, and sometimes more amazing to see skaters that usually shred just go to pieces and blow it completely, haha.
The semi-finals came down to Scott, Max, Kirtley and Stuart. Both matches were close but Scott took out Max and Kirters beat Stuart in the end. Big shout out to Max for holding his own against guys much older than him, he’s one to watch in the future for sure!
Scott won the Ro Sham Bo, smashing Jack’s puny scissors with his manly rock.
Thanks to Red for shooting some video of the final, these guys sure can do a lot of skateboard stunts.
What a game, these guys shredded big style.
Exist Skatepark regular shredder Ryan Mages did really well in his first game of SKATE, well done Ry!
Max came in forth, I predict he’ll be in the top 3 next time.
Stuart came down from up Cardiff way and smashed it, I was really impressed by his ability to land almost every trick that was thrown at him.
Scott turned as purple as his t-shirt trying his best to take the title but was unsuccessful…
…because Jack Kirtley is the 2014 Exist Game of SKATE Champion!
Thanks to everyone that turned up and got involved with this fundraiser. Expect loads more events like this in the near future for skateboards, scooters and BMX.
